Max Danger Danish, b. 1985

Max Danger (b. 1985) is a Copenhagen born goldsmith, jewellery artist, and lapidarist whose practice sits outside the conventional boundaries of contemporary jewellery. Trained through a four year goldsmithing apprenticeship in Copenhagen and an MA in Jewellery and Metal from the Royal College of Art, London, he treats each jewel as a narrative sculpture. What sets his work apart further is that Danger cuts his own gemstones rather than sourcing pre cut ones, a path he turned to when the stones he envisioned simply didn't exist, and one that has since opened up entire forms and possibilities that were previously out of reach. This gives his new works an uncommon authorship and material intimacy, with the stone becoming the co-author.
